Yawei ZHAO

Dr. Zhao Yawei completed a preliminary medical degree at the Medical College of Jilin University in Changchun. She then completed both her medical degree and PhD at Asahikawa Medical College (Hokkaido, Japan).

After her studies, Dr. Zhao worked as both a resident and an attending physician in the OB/GYN Department of the Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital (Beijing). Between those jobs, she spent a year doing advanced clinical training as a foreign medical practitioner at Asahikawa Medical College to complement her studies there. She returned to Japan in 2007 and 2009 as a visiting scholar, this time in the OB/GYN Department of Tokyo University Hospital. After returning to China, Dr. Zhao became an Associate Chief Physician in the OB/GYN Department back at the Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital.

Dr. Zhao joined BJU in February 2011. She brings to the hospital over 16 years of clinical experience and familiarity with common OB/GYN diseases. Her ability to quickly diagnose and treat these common diseases and perform routine surgical operations (especially laparoscopic operations) is an asset to the BJU OB/GYN Department.
